Manchester United suspend Mason Greenwood following assault accusation
Mason Greenwood has been suspended by Manchester United on the back of an assault accusation.
For those not familiar, a series of photos, videos and audio clips were posted on the Instagram account of Harriet Robson, understood to be Greenwood’s girlfriend, on Sunday.
The posts in question, which have now been deleted, saw Greenwood accused of assaulting Robson.
Manchester United, from here, released a statement which read as follows: “We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media.

“We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”

Nike, who sponsor Greenwood, also released a statement of their own:

A spokesperson for Nike, who sponsor Mason Greenwood, tells @TheAthleticUK in a statement: “We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation

And now, as confirmed by the Evening Standard, ‘Greenwood has been suspended by Manchester United after a woman accused him of assaulting her’.

The Red Devils would release a second statement on the matter on Sunday afternoon, confirming that: “Mason Greenwood will not return to training or play matches until further notice.”
