Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has revealed that he has spoken to Ralf Rangnick about his imminent move to Manchester United.

United have agreed a deal to bring Rangnick in as interim coach until the end of the season while a permanent boss is found, after which he will take up a consultancy role at Old Trafford.

A one-time target for United before his summer switch to Bayern, Nagelsmann confessed that he is expecting big things from Rangnick in Manchester.

"I wrote to him to say that I think it's awesome," Nagelsmann said (via Spox). "He will do Man Utd very well with his power and the way he plays football.

"I think United will have some good games over the next few weeks and I'd like to see him stay as manager for longer than just until the summer.
